The Alliance for Quality Nursing Home
Care Hires First President WASHINGTON, DC - The Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care today announced that Alan Rosenbloom will serve as its first president. For the past five years, Rosenbloom has served as president of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association. As president of the Alliance, Rosenbloom will lead the coalition's advocacy and oversee operations. "We are very excited to have someone of Alan's stature joining the Alliance," said Alliance chairman Keith Weikel. "He is an expert on the issues affecting health care in general and skilled nursing providers in particular. Given Alan's success in Pennsylvania and prior Washington experience, we are confident his leadership will be a tremendous asset to the Alliance as we move forward in establishing an office in Washington, D.C." "With so many important federal issues facing skilled nursing providers, this position is a great opportunity," said Rosenbloom. "In recent years, the Alliance has played a crucial role in driving substantial quality improvement for skilled nursing providers. I am confident we will accelerate this trend, so America's growing senior population will receive the highest possible quality care and services." Rosenbloom also noted that the Alliance will strive to assure adequate funding for quality services and to spread "best practices" throughout the provider community. Before joining the Pennsylvania Health Care Association in 2001, Rosenbloom served in a variety of capacities with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, most recently as the group's interim president. He previously was a partner at two Philadelphia law firms, where he specialized in health care. Rosenbloom earned his J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as an associate editor of The Law Review, and has studied public policy at the Wharton School. He is a native of Massachusetts, and earned his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts.
#### The Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care is a coalition of 15 national skilled nursing providers who deliver care to hundreds of thousands of patients on a daily basis. |
