Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing facility in Burke, VA, recently opened the doors to a new 4000 square state-of -the-art therapy wing, which will offer a variety of advanced rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapies. Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 120 bed skilled nursing facility (SNF) providing post-acute transitional care and long-term care to over 900 patients annually from the Fairfax, Prince William, Arlington and Loudon counties of Virginia. The care provided by a compassionate and skilled caregiving workforce focuses on the use of their trademarked "Recovery Map" to assist in the full recovery of our patients while working collaboratively with them and their families.

Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center is one of the first skilled nursing centers in the Northern Virginia area trained to effectively care for and provide rehabilitative services to post-acute patients who have received a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) to treat their cardiovascular disease. An LVAD is an implantable mechanical pump that helps transfer blood from the lower left chamber of the heart to the rest of the body. After about a 10-day stay in the hospital setting, these LVAD patients will receive up to three hours a day of rehabilitative care at Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center for approximately two to three weeks.

Patients come to Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center seeking post-acute care for a variety of medical conditions including cardiovascular illness, hip or knee replacement, stroke, heart failure, pneumonia and post-surgical care.
